_ concern for production as the x-axis and
_ concern for people as the y-axis;
_ each axis ranges from 1 (Low) to 9 (High)
1. Impoverished Management’ style or ‘Indifferent Management’ style (1,1)
_ low on concern for production and low on concern for people
_ The main concern for Impoverished Managers is often to not be held responsible for mistakes.
2. Country Club Management (1,9)
_ low on concern for production and high on concern for people
_ Managers with this style pay a lot of attention to the security, well-being and harmony of subordinates.
_ increase performance
3. ‘Authority-Compliance’ Management’ style (9,1)
_ ‘Produce-or-Perish’ style, Task Management
_ high concern for production and low concern for people
_ believe that subordinates’ needs are relatively unimportant
_ This style is largely based on McGregor’s Theory X
4. Middle-of-the-Road Management (5,5)
